Soul to Soul

Sweet dreams tell of more fantasies,

fantasies that most often jabs at my heart

with each celestial embrace…

A tireless task at dawn I crave,

lost through journeys in the night often

making my skin tingle—-

a glistening moist felt, through the edges

of my feel all clutched on a pillow

each night, I miss you….

This sweet estrange is my warm

through the cold, a gulp that flickers

to the same silent music rekindling

Joys told of ancient love….

Hours to last, minutes to cherish,

days to adore and a lifetime to build..

An essence I desire, told through moons—

a feeling, clad in the light of a pole star,

piercing my heart with each moment

i think of you—you are a part of me,

soul of my soul, flesh of my flesh—

You are the epitome of my thoughts,

lost beyond illusion, a purity that beckons whilst

leaves frolic in poetic sway with each joy—

My heart speaks in quiet through the waning

world—for even in glows, even if stillness alarms

in my weak moments, restraint without motion

can harm—

From lush to mush—from my soul,

carved in poetry,

I love you…

Author: AfroetryC

I am an African woman and a mother to a precious little angel. I love to use the term "Afro-floetic Queen" mostly to describe my poetry and my roots. I love, soul music and inspirational bits of knowledge to offer advice and counseling to those who need it. I can be very witty, straight forward but fun. Ha. ha... A colorful perception of the world - expressed in my poetry. I want to inspire people with my Poetry...give them hope, while also advising them. Life is a learning process and i am happy when one of my pieces directly affects or inspires one of my readers. Let's take a detour around experience, and let me fill your minds with sweet poetic juices.... Note: Just changed my user name from FloetryC to AfroetryC because the latter is more personal and describes my Spoken Word Poetry better.
