The Perverse Mind of the Mirror ( Perception)

Struck with distraught, she just stood there

Coated with sweet poise, allure reflection…

she just stood there…

probably thinking,

Ahh.. the beauty of childhood!

The magic as i ran my fingers in her plaited hair

Her glowing soft skin cleansing my thoughts

Sensation of the heart, an evoking joy…

like strong arms holding your warm,

My eyes caught a glare, as i stared wishfully

revoking memories of her childhood,

prompting thoughts of her future

as a beautiful, intelligent woman…

All curved in one piece, like a fresh rose

Eyes full of mischief, my thoughts were caught in crypt…

A raging young beauty pervading life…

an innocence i almost remember.

My heart leapt each time my eyes met hers…

so round, yet almost perfect…

Like passions from a common heart

this mystery binds me still

As I gaze through the melancholy light

and realize that she is gone…

My mind, my reflection, my image…

I am an African woman and a mother to a precious little angel. I love to use the term "Afro-floetic Queen" mostly to describe my poetry and my roots. I love, soul music and inspirational bits of knowledge to offer advice and counseling to those who need it. I can be very witty, straight forward but fun. Ha. ha... A colorful perception of the world - expressed in my poetry. I want to inspire people with my Poetry...give them hope, while also advising them. Life is a learning process and i am happy when one of my pieces directly affects or inspires one of my readers. Let's take a detour around experience, and let me fill your minds with sweet poetic juices.... Note: Just changed my user name from FloetryC to AfroetryC because the latter is more personal and describes my Spoken Word Poetry better.
