Smart Phones, Stupid People. ( The loss of real communication)

Panic, panic! There’s confusion in the streets.

I phone 6 attack, Samsung revolt, Huawei fight

and Nokia parade. Some stupid person is talking

loud on the phone, someone else is downloading

applications. Someone is taking videos while

another person is taking photos and uploading

on social networking sites like face book, twitter

and Instagram, sharing the videos and photos on

whats app. Everyone is talking, texting and sexting.

Everyone wants to be heard but no one is listening.

There’s chaos in the streets!

It’s the spark of the zombie revolution.

The streets are crowded with a group of folks

both young and old monologuing on

their smart phones. A crisis summoning the

irrational tirade of technology.

Smart phones of all sizes and types, different

brands to suit each personality and class; tastes

and preferences. Mass produced, labelled and sold.

Pimped with social networking sites and applications.

Fed to a hungry crowd, artificial DNA for stupid people.

A robotic generation attached to their smart phones.

Whistling through the streets with their headsets on,

faces buried on their screens.

Tightening the cuffs on their wrists for they have been

inundated with all that technology for too long.

Quotes and memes have replaced communication.

Real communication lost through emoji s.

Thoughts are shown on emoticons.

Conversations are words typed out on smart phone screens.

Affection is shown through likes, shares, re-shares and re blogs.

Effective communication is now a hustle.

Texting is ruining the art of real conversation.

Most people are detached from their real surroundings

and prefer to keep their faces buried on their smart

phones instead of having real face to face conversations.

They tweet their problems instead of facing them.

They update their status on face book with their issues

instead of handling them. Venting out on social media sites,

ranting , bitching and whining instead of talking things

through in a face to face; real type of conversation.

Dinners, family reunions and parties are shown on Instagram.

The age of screen shots, selfies and videos.

Everything is recorded in the streets.

A generation of pseudo-dumb detectives taking Screen shots

and attention seeking people filtrating social media with

selfies showing different parts of their bodies.

An electronic age where some people prefer to pass each

other in the street but stay connected on social media.

Some people even share a dinner table without having

a real conversation. They keep their gaze on their smart

phones. No one is talking because the conversations are

being tweeted and updated as status updates on face book.

A misuse of technology, lost through delusion and stupidity.

A little respect won’t hurt.

Your smart phone won’t stop working.

Stash your smart phone and talk to me.

Look into my eyes and connect with me in

a real conversation. Listen to me.

Let’s replace emoticons with real smiles and laughter.

Let’s get merry and talk like the old times,

Connect with our surroundings and appreciate the

beauty of the world.

After having all this fun together, you can tweet about it,

update your status on face book; share a video on whats app,

and share photos on Instagram if you like.

Reconnect with humanity, don’t become a drone.

I love, soul music and inspirational bits of knowledge to offer advice and counseling to those who need it. I can be very witty, straight forward but fun. Ha. ha... A colorful perception of the world - expressed in my poetry. I want to inspire people with my Poetry...give them hope, while also advising them. Life is a learning process and i am happy when one of my pieces directly affects or inspires one of my readers. Let's take a detour around experience, and let me fill your minds with sweet poetic juices.... Note: Just changed my user name from FloetryC to AfroetryC because the latter is more personal and describes my Spoken Word Poetry better.
