My Silence.

Silence is my eloquent expression of the

inexpressible.

A virtue of unconditional control of words.

My best alternative in the absence of words.

A quiet haven where i can think freely when

my conscience is crowded with a clutter of

crazies and my mind is spinning along trails

of unconscious thoughts.

My silence is a loud space – louder than

your thoughts.

My eloquence hides in silent metaphors.

Words camouflaged by several noises and

voices entangled within my funky system.

Booming mind that speaks battalions of

spoken word.

Screaming sentences marinated as opinions.

Opinions suppressed in my mind- in a hyper

sensitive world where honesty without a

filter is labeled as hate, ignorance is bliss,

stupidity is celebrated and jesters garner

more attention compared to knowledge.

Silence is my sanctuary when the world goes

awry and i just want to get lost in my thoughts.

Listen to the words that reverberate within

my skull.

A shrine where i can meditate, embrace my

fantasies, thoughts and  imaginations.

A studio where i can create mellifluous melodies

and transform them into beautiful poetry.

So, I take this vow of silence to take a mind

stimulating vacation from the selfish, obnoxious,

judgmental and hateful world – to have some

quality time alone with my thoughts and connect

with the serenity of my Silence.

I am an African woman and a mother to a precious little angel. I love to use the term "Afro-floetic Queen" mostly to describe my poetry and my roots. I love poetry...art, soul music and inspirational bits of knowledge to offer advice and counseling to those who need it. I can be very witty, straight forward but fun. Ha. ha... A colorful perception of the world - expressed in my poetry. I want to inspire people with my Poetry...give them hope, while also advising them. Life is a learning process and i am happy when one of my pieces directly affects or inspires one of my readers. Let's take a detour around experience, and let me fill your minds with sweet poetic juices.... Note: Just changed my user name from FloetryC to AfroetryC because the latter is more personal and describes my Spoken Word Poetry better.
