Fighting Temptation.

She craves the attention like a

drama Queen, aches for the

affection as she struggles to

harness her hysteria.

Her palms are sweaty and her

stomach growls with lust as

eyes pierce through her soul-

thrilling her with peculiar calls.

Cajoling voices tickle her ear

drums, her temperature rises.

A tidal wave of temptation

thrashes into body creating

need for euphoria- re-igniting

the fire in her body.

Temptation crawls into her

mind like a microchip planting

lustrous seeds of inception.

Indistinct whispers swirl with

the subconscious as invisible

guitar strings vibrate and

manipulate her thoughts as

self control depreciates and

her body wins.

Like an elixir from hell, pangs

of desire summon her at the

midnight hour- mocking her

loneliness, taunting her

thoughts and haunting her

dreams.

She squirms in her bed, holds

onto her pillow and fights

to free herself from self

created incarceration and

take full control of her mind

and body- controlling her

feelings, emotions and urges.

Temptation is nothing but a

drug, corrupts the mind and

weakens the flesh.

I am an African woman and a mother to a precious little angel. I love to use the term "Afro-floetic Queen" mostly to describe my poetry and my roots. I love poetry...art, soul music and inspirational bits of knowledge to offer advice and counseling to those who need it. I can be very witty, straight forward but fun. Ha. ha... A colorful perception of the world - expressed in my poetry. I want to inspire people with my Poetry...give them hope, while also advising them. Life is a learning process and i am happy when one of my pieces directly affects or inspires one of my readers. Let's take a detour around experience, and let me fill your minds with sweet poetic juices.... Note: Just changed my user name from FloetryC to AfroetryC because the latter is more personal and describes my Spoken Word Poetry better.
